It’s Wednesday my hairy friends and that means previews for next week’s comics. You can check out our breakdown of today’s Star Wars Comic Keys and First Appearances here if you missed them.
On deck for for August 17th is Star Wars 26 and Star Wars The Mandalorian #2 and we’ve got the previews for you courtesy of Star Wars.com.

Marvel Star Wars 26
Star Wars 26 by Charles Soule is an interesting book to me because it officially kicks off a new arc for the series as Commander Zahra has been taken out of the picture. This issue will set up the the next 5 or so of the series and will probably lead us into the sequel to the Crimson Reign crossover event, The Hidden Empire.
The preview alone gives us 3 first appearances. General Palton from the Empire along with Ambassador Givens and Secretary Osrund of Bar’leth.
If Bar’leth sounds familiar it’s probably because the planet first appeared in the Star Wars Doctor Aphra #1 in a flashback as Aphra thought back on her times at the University of Bar’leth as a student.
Small galaxy, eh?

Star Wars The Mandalorian #2
Next up is Star Wars Mandalorian #2, the 2nd of 8 comic adaptations of the first season of the Mandalorian Disney plus show.
Now this book will come with some level of controversy as some will view this as the first full appearance of Grogu while others will give that honor to The Mandalorian #1. Both can be right because both can have a different definition of what a first appearance is.
You choose which one you like best.
This issue also features an obscure first appearance but a first appearance all the same. The Jawa Chief who first cracked the Mudhorn egg is named Chettkap. Judging by his willingness to share his tasty prize I’d say he’s a fair and just ruler.
Now as for the preview we get to see Mando dog walking some Trandoshan Bounty Hunters who were after our sweet sweet baby boy.
