Late last week Penguin and Diamond both released their October 2022 catalogs that have all of the comics, books, toys, apparel, etc. and we can now see that we’re getting a Peach Momoko 1:100 Retail Incentive Variant for Star Wars The Mandalorian #4. Pre-order listings are already starting pop up on Ebay.
This caught my attention because we rarely get virgin Star Wars comic variants that are not store-exclusives from Marvel.
Peach Momoko certainly has a large fanbase and I personally really dig the virgin variant but if you are not wanting to shell out the big bucks know you can get the open order trade dress for cover price on October 5th or even less if you pre-order now.
It’s a little odd to me that they waited until issue #4 to give us our first Grogu solo cover and even more odd that it’s our first 1:100 since Grogu’s first appearances are in the first two issues.
Many consider Grogu’s first full appearance to be in Star Wars The Mandalorian #1. Other’s view Star Wars The Mandalorian #1 Grogu’s first cameo appearance (shown in a few panels) with his first full appearance coming in Star Wars The Mandalorian #2. You decide for yourself which one you like more.
As for Star Wars The Mandalorian #4 we get the first full appearance of Cara Dune as well as a bunch of other minor characters who work on the farm Mando and Cara are hired to defend from the warlords with the AT-ST walker.
