Life Day has been a part of the Star Wars mythos since the Star Wars Holiday Special aired in 1978. Whether ignored or adored, the Holiday Special has had elements plucked from it recently and showing up in new canon media.
Life Day #1 is coming from Marvel Comics on November 24, 2021. The issue is an anthology of stories including stories from the original trilogy era and reaching back into the High Republic era as well! Life Day #1 is written by Cavan Scott, Justina Ireland, Jody Houser and Steve Orlando with art by Ivan Fiorelli, Georges Jeanty, Kei Zama and Paul Fry.

Life Day first appeared as a concept in comics in Russ Manning’s Star Wars #19, published July 15, 1979 in newspapers. This strip, the opening scenes of a story called “The Kashyyyk Depths”, was never actually reprinted in a traditional comic book format. It recently made its way into the Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Newspaper Strips Volume 1 (2/7/2017), and IDW’s Star Wars: The Classic Newspaper Comics Vol. 1 (5/9/2017). These are all “Legends” comics, though. The first appearance of Life Day in Canon comics is Star Wars Adventures #3 (2020).
Although the High Republic Wookiee Jedi, Burryaga has had a couple prior cameos (Star Wars: The High Republic #1), this will likely be his first full appearance, so grab a couple copies accordingly if you want to speculate on his popularity!
