Halloween Comicfest 2021, organized by the same company as Free Comic Book Day each year, has been cancelled.
“Due HCF’s close proximity to Free Comic Book Day this year, and with the logistics and planning required for the event, we have made the difficult decision to cancel HCF for 2021.“
Now, a book called Star Wars High Republic #1 Halloween Extravaganza 2021 is showing up on Final Order Cutoff for 9/19/2021! Reading between the lines and making some rather safe assumptions. This was supposed to be the Halloween Comicfest 2021 Star Wars book from Marvel, and this is likely an all new story. The reason I make the second assumption is because it’s illustrated by Luke Ross, who has yet to draw a single page for a Star Wars High Republic comic. Unless the solicitation is wrong, this book will be all new. Right now it looks like all of the Marvel Halloween Extravaganza comic listings (Miles Morales, Hawkeye, and Daredevil) show Charles Soule and Luke Ross as the Writer and Artist, respectively. The most likely explanation is that this is an error on PreviewsWorld’s part. Press releases from July show that all four of these will be reprints of existing issues. A guy can dream about brand new stories, though, right!?
