It’s High Republic week! A new story arc begins for Keeve Trennis in High Republic #9! Keeve joins the Nihil, but it everything as it seems?! The same can be said of the Starhopper Padawans in High Republic Adventures #8 over at IDW, I think! New story arc, a little respite at Starlight Beacon, but not for long!
It’s a bit early to tell, but it appears that Cover A for High Republic Adventures #8 features the first cover appearance of the as-yet unnamed astromech droid of Lula Talisola. We last saw this little guy (I think) in High Republic Adventures #4 when Lula stole a starfighter to chase after Zeen:
(W) Cavan Scott , (A) Ario Anindito , (CA) Phil Noto
A NEW STORY BEGINS THIS ISSUE – THE SHADOW OF THE NIHIL! Following the terrible events of The Rising Storm, the villainous NIHIL are in retreat, hunted by THE JEDI. WAYSEEKER KNIGHT ORLA JARENI is attacked by a lone Nihil Stormship in deep space, a Stormship commanded by one of the Jedi’s own. Which of STARLIGHT BEACON’S number have joined the Nihil Horde? And how far will they turn from the Light? Rated T
Daniel Jose Older , Toni Bruno , Harvey Tolibao
Back together and safe on the Starlight, Lula, Zeen, Farzala, and Qort recover from their adventures on the Junk Moon and Nal Hutta, but a new challenge awaits them in the form of an old friend. Meanwhile, Marchion Ro encourages Krix’s violent obsessions, leading to an attack on Batuu! Writer Daniel José Older, bestselling author of Star Wars: Last Shot and artist Toni Bruno bring IDW into The High Republic, a massive publishing crossover spanning comics and prose!
I wanted to point out issues which have a final order cut off on Monday 8/30/2021. If you’re not familiar, final order cutoff is when the distributor locks orders and the publishers then print accordingly. So, if you want to absolutely guarantee you get a book, get your order in before then.
