A familiar face popped up in Star Wars #13 this week! Sagwa, the male Wookiee that Chewbacca once saved from imprisonment in the Spice Mines of Kessel in Solo: A Star Wars Story, has once again shown up to lend a helping hand in our heroes’ quest to track down the Hansicle. This is Sagwa’s first full comic book appearance. These appearances have been added to our Wookywiki.com database!
Looks like Sagwa is entering the fray of War of the Bounty Hunters!
Chewbacca has heard about a sighting of Boba Fett on Nar Shadaa from one of his contacts. Threepio, Artoo, Luke, and Chewbacca decide to go check it out. And who should Chewie’s contact be other than Sagwa!?
Of course, Sagwa first showed up in Solo: a Star Wars Story, where Chewbacca liberated him and other Wookiee slaves. The Marvel adaptation of the movie shows Sagwa in an unnamed cameo in issue #4. Although unnamed, we assume the Wookiee depicted is Sagwa becasue Sagwa was the Wookiee who bid Chewbacca farewell in the film and does so in the comic.
By the end of Star Wars #13, it looks like Sagwa is tagging along on the Millenium Falcon to track down Solo. Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Sagwa in War of the Bounty Hunters!
Star Wars #13 is out today!
