Gamestop announced five 6 inch two-packs commemorating Batman’s team-up with our favorite mutated turtles! This confirms suspicions that DC Collectibles’ teaser instagram post was foreshadowing a continuation of the SDCC/ Entertainment Earth Michelangelo as Batman shared exclusive.
Full details and gallery below!
Just last week we reported suspicions surrounding DC Collectibles’ Instagram post of a Gotham City manhole with an ominous green glow emanating out.
Many thought this picture indicated a continuation of the Batman vs. TMNT figure concept which started with the Michelangelo as Batman shared SDCC exclusive still available for pre-order through Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store.
IDW and DC Collectibles have had a couple of successful crossover comics in recent years and a cartoon. This might be the beginning of an expanded crossover merchandise line.
Now Gamestop has confirmed those suspicions posting five 6 inch two-packs each featuring a character from Batman and a character TMNT. The first wave (if there is to be a second) includes:
- Batman and Leonardo;
- Robin and Raphael;
- Batgirl and Donatello;
- Alfred and Michelangelo; and
- Ra’s Al Ghul and Shredder
Gamestop doesn’t provide any essential info on the figures, like scale. But if they are to scale with Michelangelo as Batman, we’re probably looking at 6 inch/ 1:12 scale.
Each set is going for $49.99 each or $249.99 for a bundle of all five. Release dates start in September 2019 with Batman and Leonardo and run through December 2019 with the release of Ra’s Al Ghul and Shredder. Not sure if ordering the bundle postpones delivery of all your figures until December. The listing states that items may “ship in separate packages”, so it’s likely they ship as each pack is released.
It looks like the posing options are endless if you get the full set. The whole wave will deliver tons of accessories from batarangs, to pizza slices, to phones and manholes, and skateboards. Cowabunga!
